Amerie "Why R U" Vocal Range/Vocal Arrangements

Amerie, aside from Brandy, and Kelly Rowland (in my opinion) has some of the best vocal arrangements. For one, I originally posted this yesterday from my Youtube channel, cause it's connected to this blog, but it wanted to act retarded, and never posted it. Maybe it was because I wrote like 4 paragraphs on the whole thing, lol

Anyhoo... i'm gonna review the video from start to finish ("Why R U")

At the beginning bridge she sings a series of notes through (E4-G4-E4-G4-Eb4):
*She basically kept going from lower, higher continuously through the bridge. Specifically speakin she went starting a E4, up 2 notes to G4, back down 2 notes to E4, back up 2 notes to G4, and down 2 notes and a semitone to Eb4, INCREDIBLE!!

Then, she repeatedly hits C5 at "Battle" of the bridge goes back through a series of notes up, and down. Hits C5 again just before she starts the chorus. Then, goes back down and harmonizes a G3 in her lower register. Amerie doesn't have the most expansive or thick lower register, but for her to harmonize the G3 all throughout the background vocals, is plain genius. Then, at the end of the Chorus, she hits a series of C5's, including a few in the background including with her singature Oh, Oh, Oh ab-libs.

Next, part of the song around 1:44, she goes through another series of notes through the middle bridge of the song (A4-D5-A4-C5-A4).
*That means she went from low A4 up 3 notes to D5, back down 3 notes to A4, back up 2 notes to C5, and back down 2 notes to A4.
Fuckin incredible!!! I mean to hit the notes so swiftly, transitioning higher lower through the bridge, WHO THE FUCK ELSE DOIN IT?!, lol

She goes through another series of notes, then hits right back up till the middle-end of her chest register to E5 and immediately back down to D5.
Most singers have trouble hitting that note, or notes like that, but Amerie has no trouble hitting those notes at all. She hit E5-D5 about 3 times during the song, and numerous C5's back to back with ease, and on top of that, went through a lot of up, and downs through notes in the song. After, the E5-D5 she goes back to the chorus harmonizin the G3 in the background, then hitting back to back C5's after that. Then, slides/riffs up to a beautiful C5 at around 2:15 (my fave part of the song) Hits another D5 near the end of the chorus, so fiercly, and harmonizes the G3 again, then around 2:39 shoots back up to a E5-D5. Harmonizes the G3 again, then hits a series of C5's in the lead and background vocals of the song. Then, end the song with her repeated low note harmonizations, and the C5's.

Amerie is underrated, very. Her voice is throaty at times. But, it adds to her sound. Her vocals are like rock, funky, edgy, rock and roll like, so it adds to her sound; especially her signature Go-Go sound crafted by Rich Harrison. She said her vocals got damaged at a basketball game or something earlier in life, so that's y her vocals are throaty, but who cares?! P!nk and Christina Aguilera vocals are throaty, but it just adds edge to their voices, and makes the all the while more amazing. She still knocks the notes out of the ball park, and never strains hitting the notes.

Amerie has no problem hitting the top, end of her chest register (F5-G5), which quite the few artist have a problem with even reaching left alone hitting or sustaining. Like on the DC Fulfilled tour, she did her run/riff with F#5 near the end of "1 Thing". And also she has an exceptional Head voice. She hit a Soprano C sharp (C#6) at the end of song "All I Have" off her also titled, debut album "All I Have." Amerie has to be one of the best vocalist around, primarily best lyric Soprano. She's possibly even a full lyric Soprano. Her strength is in her chest register, and head voice. Her voice may be lyric, and seemingly kinda thin, but it doesn't mean she can't SANG, cause woman SANGS her heart out!

Anyooo.. special thanks to my buddy, mariahcareynum1fan on youtube. Go to her channel; subscribe to her channel, rate her vids, favorite her videos, comment on her videos. She's amazing at what she does (Vocal vids), so don't forget to scroll by her channel, and give her a holla. She actually did this particular vid for me, I had request like 2 days ago, and she really didn't have to do that. Welp.. just wanted to let you all know how amazing Amerie is vocally. That is all, lol.

RichGirl Performing Live @ Summer Jam (Sync Fix)

RichGirl murks "He ain't wit me now" @ Summer Jam in New York. These girls are bad. They all sing lead equally, well just about, I think Lydriette sings most of some of the parts. But, they all get parts, and they can sing their asses off. They all have about the same vocal range in chest voice. I mean all of them can sing, and hit the end of their chest register. And even though they only do like 2 moves in this performance, their entertaining. Their voices alone are entertaining. My favorite btw, is SEVEN, the woman is a DIVA!! Her voice is so unique, OMFG!! and she's a beautiful, sexy, classy black woman. But, all of them are beautiful, and talented. Look out for their album coming soon. Seven said the fall, but Ne-yo told her to say soon. I guess because they're not entirely sure. BTW, with that said, they are in the studio now with Ne-yo. And this is Rich Harrison's group, who is most known for working with Amerie, and her live-band (Go-Go) sound.

Jason Derulo : ["Whatcha Say"]

Jason Derulo. Most of you all are probably like who the hell is he? Seriously, I don't know who he is myself, so I had to do a little research on him, and there is very little information on him besides his lil bio on his Myspace page which i'll leave post a link to later in this post. But, before I do that i'd like to tell you all how I came about him very briefly. Well basically, as you all know from my bio on my blogspot; I have a Zune. So, I was browsing Zune Marketplace for new songs/music since I have a Zune Pass that allows me to a subscription of unlimited music listens & download's, and his songs was plastered @ the bottom with the single made me look @ his song/material cause all I saw was the artwork, and it was basic @ that. But, I think cause it was a new song that I hadn't seen on there. Then, I listened to "Whatcha Say" and I was in LOVE!!, I normally don't really like songs on the 1st listen, normally it takes me some days, or continuous listens to like a song, but this one was different. But, I think 1 reason I loved the song was because it sampled one of my favorite songs from back in the day, by Imogen Heap
- "Hide and Seek". The single has released to radio, and it has currently peak @ #24 on Billboard Hot 100 (Which it's last peak last week was #51, so that was a big jump), & for iTunes customers #5 on iTunes top 100 songs, since yesterday.

Other than that Jason is a American Pop-singer-songwriter, dancer, choreographer, vocal producer, and actor from Miramar, Florida. He has worked with such artist as Lil Wayne, Cassie, Kat Deluna, Donnie Klang, and 7 Aurelius (whoever the f that is, lol). I guess you can say he's multi-talented, lol

BTW, he's cute as hell too (well atleast to me anyways) *winks*, lol

Anyhoo...

Yess, I get my facts right, neva catch me slippin, lol

Single artwork:

But, he look better on this one (once again to me):

Make sure, everybody atleast listen to his single "Whatcha say", if you love catchy, dancey, pop music, i'm sure you'll love this song; and you SHOULD, PURCHASE IT!! NO FREE DOWNLOADS OVER HE-UH!! U SHALL PAY!!, lol. You can take a listen to his single off of his Myspace page, and you can download his single @ any major music distributor/retailer, ex: Amazon mp3, iTunes, Napster, Zune Martketplace, etc... etc...

Amerie's new single

Amerie, officially snaps on the scene after her hot, funky, r&b, rock "Buzz/1st single" "Why R U" with her new tribal, raggae smash "Heard Em All." Ame throws her hard, undeniable swagg on the song, stating lyrics like, "You can pop tags on a Louis bag, but it won't get you under my covers." Of course the song is catchy & repetitive; which is what singles, especially smash singles are, and should be. It's dancaeable, & has meaning. May not be a deep meaning that tells a story. But, it's basically saying she's heard it all from these dudes; the weak game, and none of the gifts you can buy her is gonna get her to sleep with you or cuff her up. So, everyone look out for the single to impact radio play, & become a Digital Download soon. Ame's "In Love & War" hits November 3rd after a much wanted push back; make sure you all pick that up.

Amerie "Why R U (Remix)"

Amerie. The artist who sang her most notable hit "1 Thing"; but true fans know her back from the days when she was wearing the daisy dukes in "Why Don't We Fall in Love" the sultry R&B, Love summer jam from debut album "All I Have." Well now she's back on a new record label, Island Def Jam, through her label "Feenix Rising Entertainment." She recently dropped mid-tempo "Why R U" with the 80's feel, old school Mary J. Blige vibe. Which is sittin comfortably @ Billboard R&B/Hip Hop #60. Now, she's following up with the remix, featuring such rappers as Nas, Jadakiss, Rick Ross, & Kain. Here it is:

Make sure you pick up her Upcoming Album "In Love & War" set to be released on Tuesday, November 3rd. WHOO HOO SCORPIO TERRITORY SEASON!!, lol
